The graffiti artist Banksy apparently lent his subversive talents to the title animation sequence on “The Simpsons” last night. During the intro, his name is spray-painted over several of Springfield’s more well-known landmarks, and instead of the standard silly bit that leads into the members of the Simpson family watching television on their couch, viewers are treated to a grim portrait of Chinese laborers making Simpsons merchandise, such as dolls and DVDs. Worst of all, the factory has enslaved unicorns and pandas as animal laborers. Sacrilege! Though Banksy hasn’t confirmed his involvement, the video has been posted to his official website, which may the closest the secretive “Exit Through the Gift Shop” filmmaker will come to claiming his work.
